Loup Basin Smiles Print E-mail

Loup Basin Smiles is a fluoride varnish program that is offered to all elementary schools in the district.  Health department staff and local dental hygienists visit each school, offering the service of applying a fluoride varnish treatment to any students whose parents would like them to receive it.  The health department asks for a $10 donation from families to sustain this program.  For more information, contact LBPHD’s Public Health Nurse, Holly Mann, at 866.522.5795.

Fluoride Varnish Facts

  3. Fluoride varnish should be applied 2 times per year and can be applied as many as 4 times per year.
  4. Fluoride varnish will cause a yellowish film on the teeth that will go away with regular tooth-brushing. A typical fluoride varnish application costs from $12 - $40.
