Fight The Bite!

They're back.  The return of warm weather in central Nebraska brings with it, mosquitoes.  LBPHD monitors its nine-county district for mosquito activity as part of the West Nile Virus (WNV) surveillance program.

Local Contact Information for handling and submitting birds: 

This year the health department will be collecting all species of birds that are not damaged or decayed. The birds will be sent to the Veterinary Diagnostic Center at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln for testing and residents will be contacted if the results are positive.
