Cindy Ference is a Public Health Nurse for the Loup Basin Public Health Department. She graduated from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing in Kearney with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She is furthering her study in Community/Public Health Nursing with the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Cindy worked for University of Nebraska Medical Center as a Research Nurse, doing a research study involving mid-life rural women from March 2007 until August 2009, before coming to Loup Basin Public Health Department. Previously, she worked as a Community Health Nurse at Central Nebraska Community Services in Loup City. Her duties at the health department include: disease surveillance, ILI reporting from our districts hospitals and schools, and the PHONE program. Most recently, she has been very involved in the H1N1 flu virus that has been making its way across the state and trying to keep all of LBPHD's providers, hospitals, schools, etc. abreast of the most recent developments with the new virus. |
