Free H1N1 Vaccination Clinic Located in St. Paul
There will be a FREE H1N1 clinic in St. Paul on Monday, March 1, 2010 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the St. Paul Community Center located at 808 Howard Ave. This clinic is open to anyone ages 6 months and older. The CDC is now encouraging everyone to get vaccinated against H1N1, including people 65 years and older. While less likely to get sick with H1N1 than younger people, people 65 and older are at high risk of serious complications if they do get sick. Vaccination of people with certain health conditions also is important because they also are at higher risk of serious flu-related complications. Health conditions that increase the risk of being hospitalized from H1N1 include: · lung disease like asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, · diabetes, · heart or neurologic disease, · and pregnancy. "While there is currently a decrease in H1N1 influenza activity, there continues to be concern that the virus may resurface. Vaccination is the best protection against H1N1, which is why everyone should be vaccinated," stated Chuck Cone, LBPHD Director.
